Privacy policy

Last updated: date to be set on publication

For legal review before launch. This policy describes what this website actually does — it is not a template with things we do not do left in. The blanks are decisions only the client can make: the legal entity that operates the site, the contact address for data requests, and the governing law. Nothing here should go live until those are filled in and the wording has been checked against the law that applies where the show is established.

Who is responsible for your data

This website is operated on behalf of Dare Remachinda ("we", "us"). The full legal name of the operating entity, its registration details and its contact address are to be confirmed by the client.

For any question about this policy or your data, contact contact address to be confirmed. Until that address exists, please use the contact form.

What we collect, and why

This is a straight description of what this specific website does. Nothing is listed here that the site does not actually do.

When you send the contact form

We collect the name, email address, optional phone number, the subject you choose and the message you write. We also record the time of the submission and the IP address it came from, which is standard for preventing spam. We use this only to reply to you. Legal basis: your consent when you tick the box, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and keeping spam out.

When you buy something

To fulfil an order we need your name, email address and — for a physical item — a delivery address. If you buy a digital item we need your email address to send it. Card details are never entered on this website. Payment is taken on the payment provider's own secure page and we do not receive or store your card number.

Legal basis: the contract between us — we cannot send you what you bought without these details — plus our legal obligations to keep records of sales.

When you donate

We collect the amount, your name if you give it, your email address for the receipt, and any message you send with the gift. Legal basis: your consent, and our legitimate interest in thanking donors and keeping accurate records.

When you enquire about the mentorship

We collect what you choose to tell us. Conversations about a marriage are sensitive, and we treat them as such: access is limited to the people actually handling your enquiry, and the details are not used for marketing or published anywhere. Please share only what you are comfortable putting in an email.

Whatever you send by email or direct message

If you email or message the show, we hold that message for as long as we need to deal with it.

What we do not do

  • We do not run advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
  • We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
  • We do not build profiles of you, and we do not use your data to train anything.
  • We do not ask for your national ID, bank details or a verification code. If anyone claiming to be us does, it is not us.

Who else sees it

A small number of suppliers process data on our behalf, and only for the purposes above:

  • Our hosting provider — the servers this site and its email run on. They keep standard server logs (IP address, request time) for security and to keep the site working.
  • Our email provider — the message you send through a form arrives in an inbox we control.
  • The payment provider (Stripe) — processes the card payment and holds the card data. Their own privacy policy governs that.
  • YouTube and Meta — only if you choose to load a video or click through to a channel. Until you press play, no request is made to YouTube from this site.

We may also have to disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect someone from harm.

Where your data is held

Form submissions are sent by email and also written to a private log file on our server, held outside the public website folder so it is not reachable from a browser. That log exists so a genuine enquiry is never lost to a mail failure. Some of our suppliers are outside the country the show is based in, which may mean your data is transferred internationally; where that happens we rely on the supplier's contractual protections.

How long we keep it

  • Contact enquiries: while the enquiry is live, then deleted once it is dealt with — and in any case reviewed at 12 months.
  • Order and donation records: kept as long as the law requires us to keep financial records.
  • Mentorship enquiries: kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry, then deleted on request.
  • Email: retained in the inbox while it is useful, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it, or object to how we are using it. To do any of that, contact us (see above) and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country — in the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk; in Zimbabwe it is the data protection authority established under the Cyber and Data Protection Act.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

Security

Data is sent over an encrypted connection, form submissions are stored outside the public web folder, and payment card data never reaches our servers. No system is perfect; if there were ever a breach affecting your rights we would tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be flagged clearly.
